How does Focus For Good work?

Focus For Good helps you stay focused by blocking distracting apps during your focus sessions. In Serious Mode, you commit credits (real money) to your session. Complete the session and keep your credits. End early, and 75% goes to charity while 25% supports app development.

What's the difference between Lite Mode and Serious Mode?

Lite Mode: Free to use. If you want to end your session early, you'll need to watch an unskippable ad.

Serious Mode: Commit real credits to your session. Your money is on the line, which creates powerful motivation to stay focused.

How do credits work?

Credits are purchased in the app and have a 1:1 value with USD ($1 = 1 credit). When you start a Serious Mode session, you commit credits. Complete the session successfully and your credits are returned. End early, and your credits are forfeited to charity.

Where does forfeited money go?

When you forfeit credits by ending a Serious Mode session early:
• Apple's App Store commission (15-30%) is deducted first
• 75% of the remaining amount goes to your chosen charity
• 25% supports app development and maintenance

Can I get a refund on purchased credits?

Credit purchases are processed through Apple's App Store. For refund requests, please contact Apple Support directly through the App Store or at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Why can't I see which specific apps are blocked?

Apple's Screen Time API uses anonymous tokens for privacy. This means even we cannot see which specific apps you choose to block — only you can see your selections on your device.

Troubleshooting

Apps aren't being blocked during my session

Make sure you've granted Screen Time permissions:
1. Go to Settings > Screen Time > Focus For Good
2. Ensure all permissions are enabled
3. Try restarting the app and starting a new session

I can't select any apps to block

You need to authorize Focus For Good to use Screen Time:
1. When prompted, tap "Allow" to grant Screen Time access
2. If you previously denied access, go to Settings > Screen Time and enable access for Focus For Good

My credits disappeared

Credits are stored locally on your device. If you reinstall the app or switch devices, you may need to restore your purchases. Go to the Store tab and tap "Restore Purchases."

The ad won't play in Lite Mode

Make sure you have an internet connection. If ads aren't loading, try:
1. Check your internet connection
2. Wait a few seconds and try again
3. Restart the app
