Information Stored Locally on Your Device
The following information is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to our servers:
- Focus Session Data: Duration, completion status, and statistics about your focus sessions
- App Selection Data: Which apps and categories you choose to block (stored as anonymous tokens - we cannot see which specific apps you select)
- Credit Balance: Your purchased credit balance and transaction history
- Charity Preferences: Your selected charity for forfeit donations
- App Settings: Your preferences and configuration choices
Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect your name, email, or contact information
- We do not have access to which specific apps you block (Apple's Screen Time API uses anonymous tokens)
- We do not track your location
- We do not access your contacts, photos, or other personal data
Third-Party Services
Our app uses the following third-party services that may collect information:
Apple Services:
- Screen Time API (FamilyControls): Used to block apps during focus sessions. Apple processes this data according to their Privacy Policy.
- StoreKit (In-App Purchases): Used to process credit purchases. Payment information is handled entirely by Apple.
Advertising (Lite Mode):
When using Lite Mode, you may watch ads to end sessions early. Our advertising partners may collect device identifiers for ad personalization. You can limit ad tracking in your device settings (Settings > Privacy > Tracking).
How We Use Information
We use locally stored information to:
- Track your focus session progress and statistics
- Maintain your credit balance
- Remember your app blocking preferences
- Display your chosen charity for forfeit donations
- Improve your app experience
Charitable Donations
Forfeited Credits (Serious Mode)
When you forfeit credits by ending a Serious Mode session early:
- Apple's App Store commission (currently 15-30%) is first deducted from the forfeited amount
- 75% of the remaining amount after App Store fees is donated to your chosen charity
- 25% of the remaining amount after App Store fees supports app development and maintenance
- Donations are processed quarterly in aggregate
- Individual user information is not shared with charities
Ad Revenue (Lite Mode)
When you use Lite Mode and watch advertisements:
- 25% of all ad revenue is donated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
- This donation occurs automatically and does not require any action from you
- No personal information is shared with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
- Ad revenue donations are processed monthly
Data Security
Your data is stored locally on your device using iOS standard security measures. We do not transmit your personal data to external servers.
Children's Privacy
Our app is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
Your Rights
You can:
- Delete your data by uninstalling the app (all local data is removed)
- Reset statistics within the app settings
- Limit ad tracking in your iOS device settings
- Request information about data practices by contacting us
Important: App Deletion During Active Sessions
If you delete the app while a Serious Mode focus session is in progress:
- All local data, including session history and statistics, will be permanently deleted
- Any credits committed to the active session will be forfeited and cannot be recovered
- App blocking restrictions will be automatically removed by iOS
- Reinstalling the app will not restore previous data or forfeited credits
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
